Regular Municipal Election
Nomination Petitions for City Council Seats

The City of Florence 2023 Regular Municipal Election will be held on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, as part of the Fremont County Coordinated Election. The Mayoral Seat and all six City Council seats (two per ward) will be voted upon.

Nomination petitions will be available at City Hall beginning Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at 11 AM. All completed petitions must be filed with the City Clerk by Monday, August 28, 2023, at 4 PM. No late filings will be accepted.

Required qualifications for Municipal candidates are as follows:

  • Must be a citizen of the United States; and
  • Must be at least 18 years of age on the date of the election; and
  • Must be a registered voter in the City of Florence; and
  • Must be a resident of the City of Florence residing in the ward for which the nomination petition is sought for at least twelve consecutive months immediately preceding the date of the election.

Candidates for elective office shall file their nominating petition and an affidavit that the candidate possesses the qualifications for such office. Failure to file an affidavit shall invalidate the petition.
